FEATURED MEMBER STELLAS KITCHEN We formed Stellas Kitchen in mid 2007 when the four of us got together to jam some of Daniel's original material. We each played in many other bands but never together. Songs developed quickly and we were soon playing the local Perth original music circuit.
In 2007 and 2008 we've tried to perform as much as possible and we've worked hard getting our music out there. In this time we've performed at pubs, clubs, festivals, high schools and support with larger national artists in WA. We also travelled interstate to Melbourne and played some shows over the 2008 AFL Grand Final Weekend (including the Espy Hotel in St Kilda).
Nathan Stone, an accomplished film and visual effects director helped us to produce our first video clip. We shot "Talking To" at the Avila's property in Byford, WA. The clip was nominated for the 2008 Music Oz Awards and has received a few plays on ABC's RAGE. We are planning to produce 2 more video clips with Nathan in 2010.
Our song 'Baby' is featured on the Australian compilation CD "Grow Your Own Upload 2", which was released in May 2008 by Foghorn Records. ‘Baby’ was the No1 downloaded track off the 2008 GYO 2 CD on iTunes Australia.
‘Baby’ is also is being heard by an international audience via Italian label Midfinger Records on their ‘Busta’ Compilation CD. 20,000 CDs were distributed in Europe in 2009. Baby also features on the 2009 ‘Kiss my WAMi’ compilation CD/DVD. We have also been asked by Foghorn to submit another song to their 2009 GYO Upload 3 National Compilation CD.
We produced our debut EP, "Fundamentals" and launched this 4 track CD on 3rd of July 2009 at the Amplifier Bar. We wanted this release to provide a representation of the music we play live - an introduction to us and the style of music we are writing and playing.
Our EP is available to buy in over 170 CD and record stores around Australia thanks to Firestarter distribution. Click on Leading Edge Music for a store near you to purchase our EP or you can order it direct from us. You can also download the EP here from itunes.
We are currently also working with Harpoon Studios recording and writing new tracks for our live sets and for release this year. We're always working hard to improve and our music is evolving with each new song we put together.
