FEATURED MEMBER FUNKALLEROS If you like variety, Funkalleros have it! They play original compositions influenced by very diverse music. As a live act, Funkalleros deliver punchy, danceable and ingenious Pop songs played by seasoned players. Forget what anyone says, try to find a similar band and you will not be able to. They offer music that is danceable, upbeat, energetic, original, and percussive, with a three piece horn section and songs full of melodies and surprises. Their style is very eclectic and encompasses Jazz, Blues, Rock, Reggae, and various Latin styles sometimes within the same song! There are not many bands in Australia that offer such a mix of styles with an exciting and urgent delivery Formed in 2004 by multi-faceted, multi-instrumentalist/composer Argentinian/Australian, award winning artist Abraham Dunovits, who lives and works in Fremantle, Western Australia, Funkalleros have been playing locally at selected venues such as the contemporary World music venue Kulcha, but the band shines in open air festivals. Funkalleros won the 2008 WAM Best Song of the Year prize in the category of Mixed Bag. They were finalists in the Next Big Thing band competition in 2005 and finalists in the WAM song of the Year competition in 2007 for their song "Upside Down". They were included in the International West Coast Blues and Roots Festival in Fremantle in 2008 amongst artists such as John Fogerty, Ozomatli, Jools Holland and Seasick Steve. www.myspace.com/funkalleros		The Fly by Night Musicians Club is Australia’s premier not for profit music venue!
