The Fly by Night Musicians Club is a not for profit community musicians club and music venue located in the heart of Fremantle, Western Australia.

 

The Club was founded in 1986 by Musicians and Music lovers, and it remains one of the few venues that remains dedicated to the music!

 

The Fly By Night Musicians Club has a rich history of musicians, actors, comedians, and even circus performers who have showcased their talent on the Fly's stage over the last 20 years with local, national and international artists performing at the club.

 

The Fly has seen the beginnings of some of WA's biggest bands including the John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Eskimo Joe, The Flairz, The Panics plus many more who have started off their careers at the club.

 

Other popular acts who have played at the Fly include Ani Difranco, Augie March, The Go Betweens, Missy Higgins, Paul Kelly, The Whitlams, The Black Keys, The Beautiful Girls, Francoiz Breut, Bic Runga, Lior, Xavier Rudd, Richard Thompson, Lloyd Cole, Eric Bibb, plus many more.

The Fly is located in a heritage listed building in the heart of Fremantle and is renowned for its acoustics and ambience. The Fly has gained a solid reputation for the presentation of high quality national and international acts.

The Fly has traditionally been recognised for its commitment to developing local musicians and performing arts as well as facilitating community based activities.

The venue has a capacity in the main room of 500; it also has a smaller performance space called the Transit Lounge that holds 100 as well as a number of other rehearsal rooms. The Fly venue provides numerous spaces within the venue for workshops, seminars, rehearsals and community fundraising activities.

 

Trains & Buses: There is HEAPS of transport to and from Fremantle.  All timetables and information can be found at www.transperth.wa.gov.au.

 

Taxi: There is a Taxi Rank in operation on Friday & Saturday nights located by the Fremantle Markets on South Terrace.

 

Car: There is a huge car park opposite the club on Parry Street.  There is also the Queensgate multi-level car park available on Henderson Street.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I purchase tickets?

You can purchase tickets to all Fly by Night shows through this website (tickets are offer for sale until 2 hours prior to doors open for the event you are attending or until sold out).

If you are unable to purchase your tickets via the website you can visit or phone* the Fly by Night Box Office on 9430 5976 between Mon-Fri from 9.00am - 5.00pm or from the front door when we are open for events.

* Please note that a $5.00 phone transaction fee will apply for all phone bookings

Can I smoke at Fly by Night Musician Club?

NO. The Fly by Night Musicians' Club has been Western Australia’s premier smoke free venue for over 11 years.

 

Is the venue seated or standing?

The main room holds a capacity crowd of 500 people standing and can be set up with any combination of tables and chairs, lounge chairs and dance floor space.  As we have so many different events at the Fly it is likely that the event you are attending is standing room only. For most events seating is very limited as directed by the artist or promoter for information on seating for the event you are attending please contact the Fly by Night office on 9430 5976.

Does the venue have wheelchair access?

Yes! A wheelchair ramp is available at the front entry to the club. We can arrange a viewing area by prior arrangement, just call 08 9430 5976.

 

Can people under 18 attend shows?

If you are under 18 you can only attend a licensed event whilst accompanied with your PARENT or LEGALLY APPOINTED GUARDIANIf you are unsure whether you are classified as a legally appointed guardian please call our office between 9.00am - 5.00pm Monday - Friday on 9430 5976 for further clarification.

If you are attending an event with a juvenile we do require you to fill in a declaration.  You can save time at the door by downloading the form HERE.

We do have regular under 18’s shows so keep an eye on the ARRIVALS page for details.

 

What do I do in the event of a lost ticket?

Once tickets are purchased they are solely the responsibility of the purchaser. We are unable to re-issue tickets regardless of method of purchase. Tickets should be treated like cash and are not replaceable.

 

What accommodation is available near the venue?

Do you have Eftpos facilities in the venue?

No.  The closest ATM is located at the Fremantle Markets on South Terrace.
